I'm building a chicken coop and wondering if it would be better to put t111 plywood up or just use tin all the way around and roof. Just worried that it will be too hot in the summer months . Anybody have suggestions or been there done that Advice for me ? Not sure which way to go Althouh metal right now seems cheaper and would outlast the wood !

I think the best thing would be for you to check out the coops section above. Tin would be too hot and very noisy during downpours. Are you in a particuliarly hot locale? You will need a lot of shade natural or manufactured. In some areas open sides coops are popular. Go to "where am I, where are you ," in the social forum to locate and post on your state thread. This way you can find out what others do to handle the heat or cold, etc.

Coops need to be well ventilated in any climate BTW Welcome to the flock.
