Partridge Penedesenca pullet or cockerel?

I appreciate your vote of confidence. Thank you! I will try to get closer pics sometime today. They move around so quick. I just don't understand why there is such a huge difference in size and coloring for what were day old chicks.

Thank you for posting such great pics. I have 2ea. 6 week old Partridge Penedsencas, from Meyer. Both supposed to be female. But both are very different from each other in size and coloring. I am fairly sure the smallest one is female, but the much larger one with green/willow legs is the one I'm concerned may be a cockerel, or a mixed breed. It appears to be a female? The smaller one has grey - slate legs which I understand to be the standard, and it's markings are vivid.
Mine had greenish legs around 5-6 weeks, but they turned slate grey soon after! Pics at 10 weeks old.

Still hoping this is a pullet, saddle feathers are rounded, breast is still reddish salmon without dark patches… but it’s A LOT of comb, though not quite as red as my Cochin cockerel of the same age.

Such good info. THANK YOU! We need as much info as possible about the PP's. Evidently there is alot of variation in this breed. My smallest PP at almost 7 weeks has DARK brown neck feathers (see pic - left/rear pullet for dark feathered neck), UNLIKE the green legged larger (sister?) who has perfect coloring and lacing in her back feathers, with REDDISH feathers under her chin. I thought the larger size of her meant cockerel, but now am not sure... They both have (from my experience) both have female, more gentle looking faces. I will try to get into the coop today (am so busy) and get close ups of these two. I think comb is not a huge indicator, except if it grows very early (around 3 weeks getting large), and I didn't know about rounded saddle feathers being possible female.

I’ll try to get better pictures today too. She/he is hard to catch, but chills out one she’s in my hands.

not if they are pure bred. The juveniles I showed in a photo earlier in this thread were just 1 generation from the foundation stock in Penedes Spain. Adults should look like this

Key features distinguishing them from other partridge plumage breeds are a single comb ending in a crown (aka coronation comb), and white earlobe, despite laying a dark brown egg. Slate shanks, clean, are also specified.

For the sake of posterity, here are pics at 12 weeks old.
I tried taking more photos but it’s 100 degrees today and none of us want to touch each other more than we have to. 😂
