I have 3 chicken eggs in my incubator that are on day 24. 1 is a silkie and the other 2 are mixed breed full size. Each time we have candle them it looks as though they have grown. At what point do I give up on them?

Could you candle them real quick and post pictures here? I’m not familiar with chicken hatching time frame, but google say after 26 days there’s not much hope.

I have one easter egger egg that we havent been able to candle. The shell is too thick. Wonder if that may be an issue. Jere are the other 2

1. Do the water test. You can find videos on how to do it online.
2. If they are alive, leave just a few more days.
3. If nothing happens then, water test again
4. If alive, you might need to take action, they might not survive but it's worth a try. You can make a pip (lots of studying needed first) or just crack it open.

If the temperature was a little low during incubation, that can cause a delay. I've had them hatch as late as day 26 with low temps.
