"Pasting"???

Newbee at this...my daughter and I just got 5 babies at our local feed store...
Road Island Red, Silver Laced Wyandotte, Barred Plymouth Rock, Ameracuna, and not sure what the last one is...
We have had them 3 days and for the most part they are doing great. But we have had constant pasting at the vent on 2 of the babies... I keep clearing it with a warm wash cloth and wet Q-tip but it keeps getting clogged up... Any ideas on how to prevent this or an easier method of cleaning them??? Thanks Farm girl

In a word....Yogurt. If you can get them to eat some it will help a lot. For the other end use a little vaseline and it will keep things from sticking.
