I found my cornish x would clear the pasture of clover right after I moved the tractor.  Taking their feed away from them for 15 or 20 minutes, I observed that they would forage and scratch on the new grass.  I filled 2 3' troughs twice daily and ended up with pretty decent sizes at 6 weeks on 500lbs of feed for 55 birds.  Towards the end I was moving the tractor 3 times a day.  Last year we did 25 freedom rangers in the same tractor and aside from not laying down as much, the behavior between the two types was not that much different.
