Pasty but

hey y’all.
So I just got 16 chicks and three of them have pasty but. I cleaned the vents. This is my second flock and I want to treat this with caution. Please help with advice....what’s causing it? ( we got them Saturday morning) how can it be prevented? And what is the best way to treat it. Thank you

It's my understanding its cause by being over heating.
What are you using for a heat source.

Make sure they are eating a good diet, if not they could lack nutrients and then have dirrehea which pastes up.
