This little TSC chick had a bad case of pasty butt. I cleaned her but when cleaning her I noticed two hard lumps on her abdomen. Kind of inbetween her feet but a little more toward her head. I looked at an image of a chickens anatomy and it’s in the same spot as the liver. She won’t sit down either. She just stands to sleep with her head down. I’ve never felt these hard lumps on any of my other chicks so it worried me. Are these lumps actually normal? I have no other chicks of her age and size to compare to. All my other chicks are older or bantams.

Pictures of her after cleaning her vent. The hard lumps are next to her foot.

What is coming out and getting stuck even though she’s oiled

I don't see lumps, be sure to keep the chick warm and as dry as possible. I wish I could be a better help! They get a little "off" sometimes when they are wet, just keep it warm-I'm assuming you are using a heat lamp? What temperature is it for the little baby...also why do you only have one that's this age? TSC has a minimum purchase of 3 chicks, they need friends their age or they don't do well.

I have five chicks I picked up from TSC. I guess I worded that wrong. All the healthy ones I have are older. The five I have were the ones in the back at TSC. The ones that wait to die out of sight of the consumer. I had six but one didn’t make it. I do have a heat lamp and brooder plate. I use a hair dryer too after washing them. To make sure they fluff back up. Here’s a better picture of the lumps I was talking about. The lump is right under my ring finger.
