Pasty Butt chicks

I looked at them and I think they are cold they are always huddled together so could that be the cause?
Chicks do sleep together, but are they as far away from heat as they can get or are they trying to get under heat? That will tell you if it is hot or cold for them.

What is the room/coop temperature out from under the heat lamp. That is way too much heat for month-olds in the summer. Start trying to wean that lamp down if you can. During summer days they shouldn't need it all unless it is 50 degrees there.

I had this problem with a few of my chicks a couple months ago, I fed them Chick Grit and it seemed to help.
But maybe I'm just crazy... Haha.
They had a lot of buildup and we had to clean them daily but after giving them the grit it seemed to stop. Maybe it changes the way they digest their food and stops the buildup?I'm not entirely sure. This is the first year I've done chickens. It's worth a shot though.
Good luck!

Is chick grit smaller than what I would give to my peacocks??? Because I have 50lbs of it!

I don't know how big peacock grit is,but if it is smaller than chicks eye, they will eat it. You can also use sand(not too fine, coarse)

Chick grit is pretty teeny. It's made specifically for babies, so it's very fine gravel. I just mixed it in with their food and it seemed to help.
