Pasty butt on full grown hen

I have one New Hampshire Redhen that has poop all over her vent. What isbest way to clean it during cold winter up here?

Bring her inside and clean the feathers with just water so that the poop is soft enough to remove. If she'll let you, blow dry her on low heat with low power. Once she's dry, she can go back outside
