Have one little chick smallest of six that has a red protrusion from his butt. I gave him three warm baths and cleaned him up yesterday put Vaseline on. He seems pretty lethargic. I made sure he's drinking water and I know he ate a little food yesterday but I'm not sure about today. Is there anything else I can do for this little guy? I sat with him in the sun to get him dry and warm before putting him back in the coop. Made a box for him but he cried when I put him in there so put him back in the coop and he just kind of stands over in the corner by himself. I don't know how to tell if it's some kind of prolapse or just pasty butt prolapse or just pasty butt. Looks like a giant hemorrhoid. Should I give him castor oil? Should I put something else on there other than Vaseline?

Could you post a pictures of the protrusion?

@Parmelee Chickens What ended up happening with this chick? I’m dealing with the same thing. The chick hatched yesterday at 1:30 pm. We just moved all of the other chicks to the brooder but left that one in the incubator because it was getting picked on.
