Pasty butt

Some of my 4 day old chicks have a tiny bit of crust,but what exactly does poopy butt look like? Do I need to clean all the crusties off? I don't think the vents are blocked.

II would clean them just to keep more poo from sticking to what's already there. As long as the vent isn't blocked, though, I don't think it's a big deal. Good job keeping such a close eye on your babies!

Put a little vaseline around the vent to keep the poops moving off.
