Pasty butt ?

i read a lot of post on here about pasty butt, and i put oil on there rumps after getting all the dried poop off, the only oil i had was vegetable oil, will that work? i have 18 chicks and 4 had this and my real ? is will there feather all grow back? thanks

they should grow back fine. just gotta give time is all i can say. good luck pasty butt is a pain in the butt.

Vegi oil should work...if not try Vaseline even. Yes, the feathers will grow back. Mine had pasty butt bad enough that I rinsed her poor feathers right off and they grew back very quickly really. The only prob is watch for pecking at the butt area. If the others peck get some hot pick/ or blu kote to put on her around the vent area. Not on the vent tho.
