Pasty wings

My new BO has dried stuff on it's wing. Should I try to remove it or just leave it alone.

What is it on the wing? Dried poop or dried blood or? If it is just dried mud or poop, I'd soak it off with a warm, wet rag. She may not be able to do it herself.

Chicks develop wing feathers very quickly, and the new feathers grow inside quills that are sort of papery looking as they shred off and the new feather emerges. Could this be what you're seeing?
