Pavlovskaya

Is anyone here familiar with the Pavlovskaya breed? I'm thinking about hatching some next year.

They seem to be pretty uncommon, I haven't seen many posts about them here. I'll probably get some hatching eggs on eBay.

I had never heard of them so I looked them up. They're gorgeous! If you do get some keep us posted, I'm super curious.

They kind of reminded me of Appezeller Spitzhauben at first glance, but yellow gold colored.

They do look kind of similar, but I've seen pictures of black and white Pavlovskaya, and the Pavlovskaya have feathered feet along with being bearded and muffed.

They are pretty chilled out birds. They go broody a lot. Very pretty birds.

I have two pavlovskaya hatched from chicks about 15 weeks ago. First seemed to be pullets but now growing what I think are saddle feathers. They are daft chickens indeed - have had trouble finding a lot of information on them, they seem to be uncommon particularly in USA where the 'polish' (related breed?) seems to be more common?

Really nice feather pattern and hairdos though.

These are my two (black/gold pavlovskaya) one doesn't have the 'breed standard' beard, though his sickle feathers are nicer imo. 7.5 months old. they are noisy, stupid and good flock defenders. but they have a lot of character still, lol.

I have 1 cockerel and 1 pullet. The little lady should be laying soon, so will need to separate them to get some hatching eggs.
