I just had a random question for the masses, do any of your cats drink water by dipping a paw in it and then licking it off their paw? I have honestly never seen my siamese drink the conventional way (lapping it up strait from the source). I have seen a friend's cat try it, but with a cup of something my friend was drinking, that was more to try and get a human treat.

My one cat does that, the strange one.

I have one cat that drinks that way every time, and another that does it only with the fish tank, because he can't get his fish-flavored water any other way.

I did read once that cats that are paw drinkers tend to have depth-perception problems and prefer not to stick their nose directly in the drink. Not sure if it's true or not, but I have seen my exclusive paw-drinker miss a landing on a jump more than once, so it could be.

My son's cat use his paw to drink and eat wet cat food with his paw he also eats and drinks from the bowl so not sure why he only does it sometimes.

My Jezebel does that, but only when the cup is too deep for her to stick her head into for a normal lapping drink. I thought she was quite brliiant to think of it! She got some leftover milk that I had used to dunk choc chip cookies into using that trick, plus some egg nog at Christmas....

My paw-drinker is the black cat, who is getting her head kissed by Calliope....
