I just had a random question for the masses, do any of your cats drink water by dipping a paw in it and then licking it off their paw? I have honestly never seen my siamese drink the conventional way (lapping it up strait from the source). I have seen a friend's cat try it, but with a cup of something my friend was drinking, that was more to try and get a human treat.
  2. My one cat does that, the strange one. [IMG]

All of my cats have done that, some more than others...looks so dainty, lol. People see it and say "your CAT has HANDS!" [IMG].

I have one cat that drinks that way every time, and another that does it only with the fish tank, because he can't get his fish-flavored water any other way. [IMG]

I did read once that cats that are paw drinkers tend to have depth-perception problems and prefer not to stick their nose directly in the drink. Not sure if it's true or not, but I have seen my exclusive paw-drinker miss a landing on a jump more than once, so it could be. [IMG]

Quote:Could be, although mine never have a problem trying to stick their whole head down into a 1/2 full glass milk. [IMG]

This is Patch, my only paw drinker...

He also is the only one born with 1/2 a tail ~ came from a long line of short tailed barn cats.

My Jezebel does that, but only when the cup is too deep for her to stick her head into for a normal lapping drink. I thought she was quite brliiant to think of it! She got some leftover milk that I had used to dunk choc chip cookies into using that trick, plus some egg nog at Christmas....

My paw-drinker is the black cat, who is getting her head kissed by Calliope....
