Does anyone take live birds to a local butcher for processing?

How much do they charge?

I have a small urban backyard so I'm not sure its a good location for doing that.

I am taking birds for the first time this year. Local place that is charging me $2.00 a bird. I've never had anyone do my birds before, but I think I'm done doing large numbers myself. I'll only do the occasional bird myself--Unless I'm unhappy with the whole deal, but these people came highly recommended to me by people I trust.

I pay $2 a bird. The place is USDA inspected and MDA inspected every year. My husband wants to sell the meat at the local farmers market so we need a processor that has these regulations for us to be able to sell.

In my neck of the woods for a bird up to 5lbs it is like $2.50 then goes up to almost $3 up to 7 - 10 lbs
Place is state inspected so you can sell at farmers markets, restaurants, etc.

I am paying $1.85 per Cornish X ...completely worth it. I only have 15 and I live in a suburban/urban area as well

Nice. I started cleaning fish on the boat ramp as well. You can only bury guts so many times in your backyard

Thanks guys.
