I think the Fluffy AMS are gorgeous! I would love to take some, but I do not know how I am gonna have pens for everything else I need come spring! But please do keep offering them, they are beautiful! I am sure I will break eventually!

Do you have any pictures of your BCM flock? I'm always looking for decent breeding stock.
Lol nevermind!
For real CJ with the CCLs!? :-/ you're trying to get the bourbons out aren't ya?

Um, no, I don't do turkeys. All I have to offer are CCLs. I did an oopsie with the NJs (missed latching the gate) and they got a vacation day with the bantams.

I think I messed up. I was trying to offer AMS ( with a small chance a fluffied baby might pop up) THAT was it...gorgeous ams..There are silkied birds in this pen ,HOWEVER there are 20+ birds in there! Those are the colors in there...we are HOPING that we got a black fluffy or a LAV fluffy. (Lav ones are what we wanted.) The CHANCE to get a fluffy baby IS there, what chance or the percentage I don't know, I think breeding a fluffy roo to a regualar Am hen gets you 25% silkied birds...( I am not sure would to go back over the geneology stuff) the way the roos are breeding...alot would be splits...but fluffy x fluffy gets fluffy and those girls are ONLY breeding with
the fluffy blue roo.But lay sporatically.. I am scared now I have brought discontent to the swap. Next time it might be better I DON"T offer them...the idea was to breed vigor and health into the fluffies by breeding them with the LAVs a by-product would be more fluffies (sell the splits) and add the good babies back in THEN work on getting more FLUFFIED individuals. We are still in the first stage. Maybe seperating them would be good...but it doesnt help the strength and vitality of the birds and it takes patience. We don't have any silkied LAVS yet (THAT is the goal)..Kraftyladies Thank you!! We always appreciate compliments and the fluffies are very cool! They are a bit shy and very unhappy being moved...we moved them to this pen months ago and only two weeks ago would they start coming outside with everyone else...the roo is really coming into his own ( the fluffy one) and is running around doing rooing things...

with EVERYONE lol...but manages to do it close to HIS girls...they don't want anyone but him...sigh We are truly trying to do what is best for the birds and to keep the Fluffy trait alive. Maybe moving the fluffies and putting a lav roo in there over the girls would be better and put the fluffy roo over the AM girls of one color...LAV girls....hrmmm

Edited to correct a mistake....of course!

Silkied roo x regular (not split hens) produces 100% split offspring but no silkied chicks in that generation.
Silkied roo x split hen produces 50% silkied and 50% smooth split offspring.

And split x split produces 25% silkied, 50% split and 25% with no silkied genes at all but are visually like the splits so no way of telling if they are split or not.
