Pea comb, beards, and POL

The divine and darling beard on my EE is making it hard to judge maturity She’s our first pea comb as well and I’m not able to judge how big it needs to be before she’s going to lay. My BCM didn’t/doesn’t squat and still just started laying, so my usual pat test is a no go since she’s so flighty… Also that niggling dread she’s already laying and it’s brown. Can I see pics of your POL EE? Thanks!

My next step is cornering her and looking at her vent if I can wrangle her, but neither of us would enjoy it

I take mine off the roost after dark, much easier.
