pea comb questions.

I have a question, I have no experience with the pea comb and am wondering about the whole "3 rows vs 1 row" when does this difference in roos and hens start to show up and is it really discernable by how old? I thought I maybe got a roo of the 2 Brahmas I picked up but they are now going on 5 weeks and their little non existent combs look exactly alike, and they look exactly like the 2 Easter Eggers I brought home at the same time. I am starting to think the late feathering was just that and maybe I really do have 4 hens but would love to know when that comb difference starts to show up.
