I'm worried it's a tumor. I took my rabbit to a vet a year back and it had something similar on it's hand, it started out as black and then turned red and large a week after.
Doc said it was a tumor and removed it. Didn't mention anything about cancer, and it was a whopping 250 bucks for the surgery.
My chicken is about 5 months old and this thing just showed up on its eyelid. It was black and looked like it could have been dirt or something. When I pulled on it, the whole black scab came off and it was really red and bloody. I thought of taking a picture but I started disinfecting everything and put it in the coop, it's dusk out so I thought it could dry up and I would do something in the morning.
I have a few questions I hope I can get some help with:
Is this anything other than a tumor?
Does chicken blood from a tumor present a risk to humans?
Does tumor blood present a risk to the other chickens?
Any help would be appreciated!
