Peachick and Peafowl Pen Ideas

I'm just thinking ahead of the future right now. Just making some blue print sketches, the ones I'm posting now are not final I'm going to make some adjustments but this is just a rough draft and I'm looking for second opinions on is the base concept good or what. I've yet to decide what I'm going to plant on the inside and possible outside. Just to fill in the blanks, Peafowl pens, a trio in each pen. I'm going to put three of the pen sketches together to make one large pen separated into three parts. Each large pen will have a certain variety of peafowl in them. Peachicks there going to be 3 separate pens in one large one based on the peachicks age. Each large pen contains a certain variety as well. I'm going to do better drawing to try and show what I'm talking about but for now it's a rough draft and let me know what you guys think. Plants I'm considering on planting is Rye grass, and possibly alfalfa as well but not sure how well the alfalfa will do. Anyway, please comment and ask questions if you have any and I'll get working on better sketches.

I would also put up solid dividers between each run so the males can't swipe at each other through the wire. With the grass and plants it would work for a little while but the peas will eventually trample and eat all of it. Lastly I would not keep any peachicks on the ground for the first several months, their immune systems are weak at that age and it's easy for them to get sick.

So put up a wall so there's no fighting got it. So far my grass in my pens have been fine. A few patches got dug up for dust bathes which is perfectly fine. I know that the peachicks immune system isn't as strong compared to when they're fully mature but I've had hens hatch out chicks and stay on the ground with no problems. With animals it's more of unluckiness that they get sick when they're healthy as can be but of course we can't prevent illnesses no matter how hard we try. If they don't get a little exposure at the younger ages they're behind the other chicks that have exposure. Just my opinion.

when they are confined is when it becomes an issue with sickness when they free range the diseases that get them sick aren't as concentrated on the ground since the pea waste is spread out across however far they roam. If you want to keep them confined especially in groups take extreme measures to keep illness down. Medicated feed, cleaning pens every couple weeks, and not overcrowding will help. Preventing illness isn't hard alot of people just don't want to put in as much effort as could be done to keep it away. I lost several birds last year to sickness and this year am implementing strict measures to prevent it. Chicks especially can drop like flies which is why it is recommended that they be kept on wire if they're confined.
