Peachick injury by a cat

I need some advice on what to do with our injured peachick that got jumped by a outside cat through the fence of our pen. The peachick is unbalanced, can't fly up on perch with mom, or walk striaght. We don't see any blood on the outside of its body. I'm at a loss of what to do, the mom keeps protecting it when I go in she'll jump down. Do I attempt to take it away from its flock? Or leave it with its family?

It sounds like it might have a broken bone or injured spine. I'd separate her in a cage (you can leave the cage in view of her family to lower stress) for a few weeks. They usually regain most of their movement. I'd leave 2-3" deep layer of woodchips in the cage for her comfort and ease of mobility. If you have Meloxicam you can give her 1/4 tablet.
