I have an egg on day 29. There is no pipping or chirping but there is still movement when I candle the egg. I have had one chick successfully hatch so far. Two died while hatching. A couple of my eggs quit developing early on, and I still have 5 eggs left that are at different stages of development. My question is, should I be concerned that this one won’t hatch without help? The last two that died during hatching might have made it if I had provided a little help.

If they are internally pipped and you can see the beak in the air cell or hear chirping from the egg, put in a safety hole.

There is no chirping. Only a little movement. How can I tell if it has internally pipped? And if I make a safety hole and it hasn’t internally popped, will it cause problems?

The shadow of the beak in the air cell should be seen when candling. Do not make a safety hole without the chick internally pipped, or it will be shrink wrapped and will die.
