Peachicks

In the middle of posting this, I went out to check on my peachicks and apparently an owl was able to get to one of the hens. Just found her laying 50 yrds away from the house with no puncture wounds, no blood just laying in the field dead!

I agree with KsKingbee, hen rooster hen. That sux about the owl. Normally, if you interrupt a hawk or owl after they made a fresh kill you can leave the bird on spot and if indeed it was an owl or hawk (daylight) they will return to the scene of the crime for the reward. Just a pointer so you can figure out what is responsible.

Young peacock, the primary remiges are redish by the females they are redish brown grey .
All the plumage of the young male is more redish !
Like others .... hen ... peacock ... hen !
