I have used Muscovy ducks, chickens and an incubator for hatching peacock eggs. You would need to start with several eggs to ensure at least one hatching.
I think you should buy the ones you saw for sale. Of course price depends on your area, ut that it about what I sold for. I don't think it is possible to sex them that young but you should get 2 for company. Make sure, ahead of time, that you have everything on hand before you bring them home - food, heat lamps, pen, etc.
