Peacock injury to eye?

Would it be helpful to gently push to see if anything comes out or no? I am certainly not opposed to vet care, just didnt want to stress him unnecessarily if i didnt need too. I know sometimes things look worse than what they actually are.

You could try that.

If you continue to see bubbles, then he either got pecked right in the eye socket or hit with a spur. The bone in the socket could be broken and the sinus is right behind it. The bubbles could be air leaking while he is breathing. Continue to flush it but otherwise let it be. It will heal. If the spurs on the males are sharp, you might want to file off the points or put rubber tips on them so they don't hurt each other.

He no longer has any sort of bubbles, its just a little crusty and the thing that is protruding, is shrinking by the day. Im happy with how he is healing and will continue flushing for a few more days just until i feel comfortable enough that he wont need it. I also made a point to have the spurs filed down on all three males so hopefully i can prevent further incidents. I cannot express how appreciative i am of everyone that has helped. So thank you all once again!

I'm looking for help with my peacock. I came home this evening and one of my little guys was at my front door with his eyes and the top of his pecked. I have helped animals for many years and this is a first for me. It's late at night right now so there is no way I can do anything but wash his eyes with water and pray for him. I read your posts up above and I'll stop by Tractor Supply in the morning. I did take photos for reference....One eye looks REALLY bad! The right eye lid (I'm supposing that's what it is) is buldging out and the left eye has partial eyeball site but the corner (beak side) has white buldge. I have Nixon in a pet cage right now with a sheet and towels to comfort him. He won't drink any water. Then again, they don't eat or drink at night anyway. I hope he makes it through the night. He was extremely content when I held him and set him in the cage. When Bculotta mentioned cleaning the eye with saline, I am wondering exactly what kind and how often to use it? What would anyone suggest I do in the morning? Should I get the Vetericyn spray?
I would appreciate any and all the advice I can get at this point.
