Peacock losing back feathers

Hello,
A total noob here, so excuse me if an answer to my question is obvious.
My peacock loosing feathers and his back is already "bald". A base of the big feathers looks nibbled. I have a little clue what to do, suspect parasites, probably mites.

It looks like he is molting, but he's late. Where are you located.
I am in the Eastern Europe, average temp in September is 10C (50F). AFAIK, molting occurs more or less evenly through the body of a bird and stops with cold weather. Here we have specific localisation and continuous loss of feathers in late September.
 
He should have molted early to mid-summer and be regrowing his train feathers now. Some IB types will shed later but what I am seeing is not typical shedding. I have had one cock that did not have the feathers yours is missing, it was hereditary.View attachment 3269761
he was fine in June, with all back feathers
