Peacocks at night.

I live in a busy town and got peafowl over here. No one complained about their noises to me. I am also very sensitive to noises during sleep and its been a year and not yet woken by peacock noises once. I sleep right through them. Here they even scream more as they are startled by the routine noises of town like cars and bikes. Believe me some times people exaggerate when they speak of peacock noises. Poor peacocks are notorious for a crime they don't commit. I personally think there calls are mesmerising and enchanting. U have got nothing to worry about unless you yourself are super sensitive to noises or got some really rude neighbours.

Adult Peafowl will call no matter what. Our male starts calling with more frequency in March - November, I believe. We keep ours in an aviary with a night house. If you don't think you can handle these wonderful, noisy, quirky birds, why not think about getting lady Amherst or golden pheasants. They are beautiful birds and they are much less noisy than peafowl. But, if you've never had them you should go ahead and get them, but they are LOUD.
