peacocks-what to consider before aquiring

I'm considering peacocks and would like to know how I would need to prepare for them. Could they stay in the chicken coop area with the chickens and 1 rooster? I have 2 areas for them actually, because we have many predators out here. I have the area where the coop is which is completely fenced even overhead. Then during the day, they go out into their 'play yard' which is fenced in, but not over head. All in all, I think they have approximately 20' x 20' area, maybe a little more. They have large branches for perches outside of the coop and perches inside the coop as well. But, I'm not so sure the coop is big enough for peacocks. I think I read they nest on the ground, so I was thinking of providing nesting under the coop.

Pens will have to be covered on top or they will get out. Avoid outdoor perches if you have predators, especially owls. Peacocks will usually get along with chickens but not always, you'll just have to keep an eye on them. You'll also want pens at least 6 feet tall, 7-8 would be better, so they don't break their tails when displaying. You'll want at least a 10' x 10' coop for peacocks, and large, uncovered nest boxes on the ground. Plastic 55 gallon drums cut about a third from the bottom and top will make two good nests.

Most information sites think chickens and peas should not be kept together because of disease. Peafowl are more susceptible to things that don't bother chickens.
However I have a pair of peafowl living with my chickens. If they are raised from chicks with other chickens they will become part of the chicken flock. They are a lot bigger than chickens and will need a lot more room. They love to fly and are good at it!

They should not be together due to disease chickens are walking germ factories when it comes to keeping them with peas.
