Not sure if there is 2 different pied genes.
Whites from Silver Pied X Dark pieds (W.E.)from silver pied should produce all silver pieds.
Not all whites carry the pied gene, or W.E. gene.
I still have more to learn on the two pieds, I try not to mixes the two.
Know all silver pied are W.E. just the W.E. are mask because of the white train feathers.
Only Opals I have are in Barred wing, and Blackshoulder.
The thing about the pieds, as you know is all the whites you get. I have whites that are BS , Purple, peach, of course you dont see these colors because the white mask them.
