Hi

This is our first time hatching Peafowl from an incubator,

we have had one successful hatch and one not so fantastic.

it has hatched but has a problem with its left leg, it can not straighten its leg it can be moved by hand only thirty degrees.

due to this we think it is slowing its progress with the other leg.

will post pictures ASAP.

Any help much appreciated

not sure, but search for slipped tendon info on here. It has to be fixed quickly or it will be permanent. I have a chick now who's 7 weeks old and disabled from this. Good luck! ps also check into splay leg which is much easier to fix.

yeah we reckon Achilles tendon as well.

we tried straightening it out as some other posts say to do but the tendon doesnt seem to want to go back in to place.

we have given it a splint to help straighten the leg and potentially stretch the tendon to allow for another attempt at putting it back in place. we have also knocked up a cradle for it so it doesnt put any weight on it.

is there anything else we should be doing?

Thanks for replying
