peafowl : black shoulder vs blue pied

I got my BS pair at 6 months from Four Oaks Peafowl Farm, paid $65.00 each.
Got my first - couple day old - peafowl from idk where, some guy in buffalo, paid $35.00 each chick, got a white, silver pied, pied and purple bs. he didn't know what any of them were, let us pick. I just picked four that looked as different as possible. the white died :( that's why later I got the bs pair.
anyways, that's all I know for pricing... I know a lot of people ask a lot more.

You would get 50% BS split Purple males, and 50% BS hens. The purple hen will give her Purple Z to every boy but she will give her plain W to every girl. The BS boy just gives a plain Z to every chick.

wow, thank you!!! you guys know so much :)

so the only way I got the purple bs hen is from a purple bs pair I'd think? I just feel lucky to have her, she's so pretty :)

If I sold chicks what should I ask

You would need to do some research. Check for breeders in your area and their prices and then check craigslist and other local classifieds. Black Shoulder, Blue Pied and White are all pretty common. They are still popular, but because they are common there are many available and they sell for a fairly low price. Around here day old chicks in those varieties can be had for $25-$35. dollars.
