Hey y’all,
I’m hoping someone here can help me figure out what kind of peafowl I have and, eventually, what gender. We bought a batch of hatching eggs at an auction, and only one made it out, so I don’t have any siblings to compare it to.
Here are a couple pictures of the chick at its current age (attached). It’s feathering out nicely with some interesting patterning, but I’m not confident enough to guess the variety..India Blue? Spalding? Something else? Since it’s a solo hatch, I also have no clue how to tell if it’s male or female. I’d love to hear from anyone with experience on how to sex peachicks as they grow and what markers I should be watching for as it gets older.Any guesses on breed or tips for identifying gender down the line would be super appreciated. Thanks in advance!
