If you cross a IB Peahen with a white peaock will ALL the chicks be full IB??

Also what do you mean when you say keep all chicks off the ground for the first two months?? Mine is an an empty aquarium with a heat light will I have to keep him in there for 2 months?? or could i put him in the garage in a rabbit cage untill two months is up (once the heat is no longer needed)??

Thanks for your help!?!?! New to the Peafowl but looooooooooooooving it!!!!!

The chicks will look IB with a few white feathers on the wing tips and maybe some on the chin also. So they would be Blue with the White gene from their white parent inside them. In the peafowl world, they would be known as Blue split White. Think of the word 'split' as "is carrying X gene".

Off ground means not letting them be on soil outside. They can be outside but in a set up that has a wire floor that keeps them from walking around right on the dirt. Reason for this is prevent the chance of them picking up bugs or 'infected dirt' until their immune systems are stronger and better able to resist whatever may be in your yard's dirt.

Correct. Also, split white bred with white= 50% whites and 50% blue split white.. don't have to limit the hunt for new blood to other split whites.. any unrelated white will do quite well also.

Kev.. You Might Double Check Me But A Blue /w Breed To A Blue /w Will Produce Blue/w Only.. Connerhills

I WENT BACK AND DOUBLED CHECKED THAT AND. ib/w BRED TO ib/w WILL PRODUCE %25 WHITE AND %50 IB/W AND %25 INDIA BLUE ONLY. SORRY FOR THE DISRUPT CONNERHILLS..
