Hi, I am on vacation here in US from UK, visiting Phoenix, San Diego, Las Vegas, Grand Canyon and back to Phoenix, lucky me!

I keep seramas and peafowl at home and am hoping to buy some eggs to take home and incubate. Flying back from Phoenix on 29th July. Can anyone help?

Great to have you aboard! I applaud your efforts to get some eggs....do you think there will be a customs issue? I really don't know - jut don't want you to go to the trouble and expense of procuring some eggs, only to get them confiscated at the airport. Also, will you take them as carry-on? I ask this because when hatching eggs are shipping through the mail here, the hatch rate is very low due to all the jostling from truck to truck and post office to post office. I can't imagine the rough ride they'd receive from baggage handlers at the airport. Just some things to consider - not trying to dissuade you. Anyway...you might try posting in some links more specific to your needs. Try these:

And post in the Arizona, California, and Nevada threads in this link. Good luck to you!!

Thanks for advice. I will check. I generally avoid posted eggs for the same reasons. Have brought polyboxes and was hoping to take them as hand luggage.

Welcome to BYC. PM ozexpat. He has extensive experience in taking eggs out of the country. Perhaps he can help you.

How do I do that, please? Sorry to be dim, am used to grey, drizzly weather and all this sunshine seems to have addled my brain. Also the gin and tonic by the pool maybe, lol.

you are not dim - I didn't know either so experimented before replying here - in the search box put "ozexpat username" it came up with several posts he did. Check out his post and you will find his avatar. Hover over his user name above his avatar, it will show you choices, pick " send PM "(personal message) you click on that and write you questions -message will go straight to him and no one else will see it, the same as when he replies to you.
