Peafowl identification

Thanks for the add to group! I used to raise parrots but due to allergies I've moved to outdoor birds (I have 62 altogether, ducks, geese, chickens turkeys and now peafowl). I've raised these since chicks and now they are all between 4 & 6 months but I am still clueless on gender. I've read they need a mate to remain happy and stay (the two bigs have been together since hatched, no aggression) the other 2 were an auction purchase because they were in poor health (bumble foot and very pecked to the point of bald) if anyone can help identify it would be greatly appreciated.
Welcome to BYC!!

Only the 4, but I remember reading somewhere that they mate for life. I figured they were best kept in pairs? I've heard local stories about them leaving if they didn't have a mate, or is that just males? Mine won't free range, too many coyotes here.
No, they do not mate for life but they do take time to get acquainted and adjusted to their environment before the next breeding season. One to three hens is the best ratio for the production of chicks. If they are only for pets then pairs or trios are my recommendations. If you plan to keep them contained then make sure they have at least 150 sq ft of space per bird, more is better.
