I went out 2 days ago to my peafowl pen and I found an egg! And I haven't gotten any other ones yet... How often do they lay?
and I have a 3 year old pair in there and a yearling male, will he disturb their breeding? and i didnt think peafowl bred this late....

The hens may still lay after the season is pretty well done- this is actually the tail end of the season in some areas (especially colder climates like us in Michigan, where this is the warmer part of our year).

They lay an egg every 2-3 days and can mass clutches of up to 12 eggs (though that would be atypical).

I would remove the young male and here is why.
My peas totally free ranged and my older male finely got the attention of my hen, i noticed yesterday whenever he would mount the hen and make the mating call the younger male would run over there and mount them both making it impossible for the first male to mate and this made the hen mad and she took off chasing the younger male.

My hen is not laying yet but seeing her wanting to mate gives me a bit of hope even though my male is dropping train feathers every day.

Good luck and i hope to see lots of photos of your new babies

Don't know if she would sit if she is not laying them in a nest but heres what i will do if i get any eggs soon

I have lots of broody hens so i will set mine under one of them and rite at hatch time i will remove them and put them in my hatcher just to make sure we don't have any broody accidents .
