Who is telling the truth?
Everything brighter ... or dark purple?

I'm just wondering how do scientists know that the birds see this way? How do we know a bird's brain processes this way the eye is like? What if the brain is adapted different making these parts of the eye truly different and not just what we think based to us. Though I haven't done much research into bird vision mainly since I just don't know how a scientist can know exactly what they see. Though probably in college I'll have to learn about how animals see in depth.
