I have older peahens and I have noticed that their egg production has gone down. I was wondering if they ever completely stop laying eggs, and if so, at about what age? Thank you!

There are a lot of factors to figure in, here is a short list. Age, environment, relationship with the cock, quality of feed, deworming and delousing, external pressures from outside of the pen, overweight to name a few. It is also not uncommon for a hen to take a break between clutches.

It appears that they are laying fewer eggs, than when they were a few years back. I am guessing our girls are 15 years old. To be quite honest, I was hoping that they would get to an age where they would stop.
