I have an Indian Blue pair. The peahen laid around 30 eggs in the last season, but they didnt hatch.

I have tried a rental incubator, it failed.
I bought an incubator for home, it failed.
Sought the services of a hen, she failed.
The peahen also failed to hatch the eggs.

I have heard about decoy eggs. Were all eggs were decoys.

PS: I have never seen the pair mating. Is that the reason?

I dont know what you mean by decoy eggs. Do you mean infertile eggs?

How old is the pair, with peafowl I think the first laying year isnt very reliable.

Were the eggs fertile? If they never mated, then the eggs werent fertile.

Did you candle the eggs to see if they were growing?

And lastly,

Did you check the temp/humidity in the incubator while they were incubating?

Sounds to me like infertile eggs.

Okay this is probably a dumb question but do peafowl mate like a roo/hen does? My pair is a little over a year. The male does his little dance constantly but the peahen wants no part of it. Will she eventually become interested?

The pair was four years old then.

Never saw them mating. Peahen took no interest in peacock's endeavours.

Yes i did candlelight test. But didnt see any development.

I checked the humidity and temp regulary.

Now I have got another pair. They are 4 months old. I think I have to wait for second year for hatching .

Decoys eggs ,are the first few eggs hen may lay before she starts her nest.

Your peacock need to be at least 2 yr old.

I have many breeding peafowl, dont see that many breed. But hatch many eggs.

My guess your peacock was just to young, yearling hens will lay sometimes but the peacock need to be older.
