HI,

I am a peafowl neebie and my peahen laid her first egg today on the floor in the coop, sort of in the corner even though I had a tire for her I guess she didn;t want it. ANYWAY do I leave the egg there or do I collect it and wait? Have no clue if she will set she is 3 yrs old. Thanks. OH, she is in the coop with 15 hens, 2 roos and the peacock and they all get along.

ANy advice is helpful.

Can someone PLEASE answer me? It has been over 24 hours now and I don;t know what to do.
Thanks

If you gather them, and incubate them. She will keep laying. you can always let her set like late July.

OH, I didn;t know that. I thought they only lay 5-7 eggs at a time. SHe was standing next the first egg and laid another and was still standing there at lockdown time. So if I collect them she will lay every day for about a month, is that right, I am in Northern NJ?

I don;t have a bator but a lot of broodies and my friend has a bator. Thanks and please advise further, I sure appreciate your input.

They will lay a batch of 5 to 7, but will lay about 4 to 5 batches if you collect the eggs.

SO do you mean 4-5 batches in the months of June-July?

When I went in this morning one of the eggs was nowhere to be found, saw no broken shell so I took the other egg away then.

I appreciate any help you can advise on this, thanks.

Mine lay may thru Aug. Depend on the peahen but most will lay 20 to 35 eggs per season.

Thanks. She didn't lay an agg yesterday so I hope she lays one today.
