My peahens wings look just like this (pic from a previous forum, not my actual peahen) She laid an egg on the 12th and 14th and nothing since(today is the 18th). The drooping wings started today and she seems to be pecking around at food and walking around so I'm just wondering if and when I should be worried and when and what I should do if it is her being egg bound? Any help would be tremendously appreciated!!

She's going to lay ... Hmm ...! it's normal ... it's spring!
At the beginning of 'lay season' they can stay as well 2/3 days before seeing the first egg!

I had a hen just the other day that had a stuck egg. I observed her for 24 hours having difficulty so I administered 2ml of calcium gluconate in 60 ml of water and tube fed the liquid. She laid the egg within a couple of hours. You can see in the pic that the egg is different and has a sandpaper-like surface.

I did not have any calcium gluconate, but I ran up to the drug store and purchased some calcium supplements and gave that to her on Saturday night and the next evening she passed the egg with no issues. Thank you all for your responses and information!!!:)

And also how did you give it to her?
First I got a gloved/lube glove and checked her vent to see if I could feel the egg. When you do that you want to be really careful so you don't break the egg. Mine's egg was 1/4 to 1/2 inch in. Next I used the calcium supplements that are 500 mg (which was the dosage that was recommended to me). I gave her 1 500 mg pill, but I used a pill crusher and crushed it up and then mixed it with some water and used a syringe and did it that way, however, the person I got my advise from (casportpony) told me I could give the pill to her whole. I gave her the supplement on Saturday evening and the next day she was walking around normally without droopy wings and she laid her egg Sunday evening. My understanding if she gets to the point of not being able to walk you not only need to do the calcium but put her in a steamy (sauna like) bathroom to see if the steam helps her pass the egg. If that doesn't work I would suggest messaging casportpony, I got very quick responses and from reading all the posts that he/she made is a wealth of knowledge:) I hope this helps and she passes her egg, I was sweating bullets!

She was doing good.
My question is how often do I dare give her calcium pills? She is getting egg being at least once a week now. I give her a pill and that night she will lay. She has a constant supply of crushed egg shells and also oyster shells in there with her. I just don't want to give her to much calcium
