Peahen with injured wing - lots of blood

Hope no one ate the vet wrap. I caught some young-uns trying to do that in 2013, when I was taping legs with it. Guess they thought they were having lasagna for dinner.

I wouldn't put it past them, I haven't found it yet.

Honestly sometimes it seems like the harder it is for them to swallow something the more determined they are to get it down. My spalding split Bronze stole a wadded up paper towel out of my hand and I had to chase him around the pen while he tried to force it down, by the time I caught him it was halfway down his throat and I had to pull it out carefully so it didn't tear.

And I haven't ever had to deal with a missing toenail, but there was a LOT of blood loss with the ripped scale. He was holding the foot up to his chest and the chest was all bloody and the blood ran down the other leg as well as all over the upper leg the wound was on. So two bloody legs, chest all bloody and lots of blood walked around the coop. It didn't affect his appetite though, and he was bright and alert. This is the only Cameo male I hatched out last year and has never been as friendly as most of the chicks. After he was caught he settled down quickly and seemed to know that we were helping him.
Yea them toenails bleed pretty bad, they will have blood on their chest they face, down their neck like something attact them the whites are the worst and will scare the bajesus out of you if you have never seen it, now it is the first thing i look for when i see blood on them in random places
