I have an old peahen. Her call got real hoarse a few days ago. Last night she stayed on the ground and didn't go to roost. I found her because of the noises she was making. I caught her and she is currently in a 400 size crate on stall pellets and a heated floor. She is alert but I am sure she has pneumonia. It has been very wet and cold here the last 2 months. I can't find any Tylan anywhere. None of the vets or feed stores have it. I also called pet shops. Amazon has a huge 250cc bottle for $160, but can't get it here until sometime between 2/19-3/5. I do have some LA 200 but don't know if or how much I can use on a bird. What do I do now??

Welcome to BYC, sorry you peahen is sick. :hugs Can you take her to a vet? Any vet will have Baytril, and that is what I would recommend to treat pneumonia.

Thank you so much for you quick response. I can get Baytril tablets from my vet. Can you recommend a dosage. What I read was for a rooster and it said 3- 22mg tablets twice a day for 3-5 days?? Do you agree with that?

The dose would be 4.54 to 6.8 mg per pound of body weight orally twice a day.

Your vet should have the 10% injectable Baytril too, which can be given orally or by injection, so that's an option.
