I have gotten really good at finding my peahens nest but I tell ya they are really nest savvy.
I had been monitoring the nest of one and all of a sudden she was gone, I knew she was ok never found any feathers nor heard a sound from her for 8 days, she finely came out yesterday and I was able to find her nest over at my daughters, she is safe there we have a Pyrenees that lives there also.
What made it bad is she is white and I have 7 big white ones , so for 8 days I was getting dizzy trying to do a head count on the whites when they were in different places every time someone started honking.
Then I had 2 more hens laying randomly, they have nested together already once this season but I took the chicken eggs I replaced with pea eggs as one got broken,
Well 3 days ago them 2 disappeared in the late evening, now I wait till one or both of them come out so I can find their nest also.. they are getting better and better at giving me the slip by staying gone longer.
I will be glade when this breeding season is over although it has been an enjoyable learning experience
