I have heard of this though I gather this is really unusual! She is the sweetest little thing and I just recently (a few weeks ago )separated her and two others from the main flock as I will be selling the others (moving). I heard some strange crowing the one day, I knew it wasn't Little Red as his crow is totally different. One of the three in the tractor is a really young pullet that I thought I had maybe messed up the sexing thing and that she was maybe a roo. But they are all laying as usual and then I caught her in the act the other day as I had her in broody jail and I saw her 'crowing'! How funny is that?! Do you think she will keep on doing this? Or is it just a temporary thing since they now don't have a roo with them? Is she just asserting her dominance? Is it some hormonal thing?
