We have been raising our most recent batch of layers and I ordered a Pearl Star cockerel in the mix. A friend has one and it came out with a rose comb and the typical brown leghorn coloring. At this point in time mine, which is younger than his, is white and black. Do they change colors as they mature? His is 7 months old and mine is 2 months old. I do t have a picture of mine at the moment.

As it is a hybrid breed I'd say they could come in a variety of colours. They should have a single comb because the parentage is apparently Partridge Rock x Sussex.

This is the description I found: " Males have beautiful feather pattering of multiple plumage colors from cream to dark red, spots of white and black, with green hues at the end of their tail. Can vary due to cross breeding of parent stock. "

Thats what I was thinking. It will be interesting to see what he looks like. He seems to be getting more dark colorings almost daily.
