Pecking and Bulling

Thank you! Chickens Really I was feeling sorry for Peaches getting picked on and gave her human emotions. I knew she was at the bottom of the pecking order, but feel better knowing that she knows it and probably is ok with it. She's the best with my 2 3-week old Jersey Giants (when I am around to make sure the babies are safe), so it would be funny when they get full sized if they remember and stick up for her! :)

Your welcome....As long as they are not causing her any injuries and are only doing the normal Chicken behaviours, she is happier than you think...Yes, she found her pals...She will be fine..Like I said, mine pair up too and have their little friends also...Mean girls for sure...

I only have 3 girls, my buff Orpington is on the bottom of the picking order but not only do they chase her away from food and treats they poop on her back and pull out her feathers. They poop on her back because they won't let her on the roost bar so she sleeps on the step to the nesting box which is under were the other 2 sleep. I'm really worried, any suggestions.

I'm having issues as well with two of my hens picking on my timid one.The two hens goes for the back of her neck and face area. I put aprons on my other 4 to protect there feathers. I apply the blue solution to try to deter the pecking.
When my two hens gets nasty I push them down to show them that it's wrong to hurt others. I don't normally intervein.I want to remove the two hens, but I don'the have a place at this time to put them. I put my hens in and allow the one hen to eat freely and relax. When the two are out with her they chase her and peck her and she
runs and hides in nesting box.
I feel so badly for her.
I also don'the free range them to often due to hulks

If you are in the state of Washington I'd trade my timid one for a nasty one, at least my sweet girl will be treated better. We are trying to create a separate roost area for our buff Orpington, but I don't want her to be all alone. She's only laid 1 long egg in the past 6 to 8 weeks so I'm guessing we won't need a nest box right away, just a place where she's not bullied.
