I'll post a pic tomorrow if I can but one of my pullets that I introduced to my 4 month old hens is being pecked a lot. Well there not pecking tooo much anymore but stil picking on specifically on her! If I'm not there I put the little ones in the coop and then the older ones in the run! They are starting to get along but the little pullets muff (shes an EE so she has the little puffy cheeks (muffs?)) is being pecked off. Just one side.... her little puffy cheek is gone and its just skin and under her beak a little to! She's unusually tiny.... what should I do? Is she alright? Thanks!

Oh ya and we started the 2 pullets off in a dog crate in the run for a day then cracked the door so they could venture out if they wanted. Then that night we put them in the hens coop for the night and they were ok then since the hens were confused and tired. But this is there third day together including the dog crate days. The 2 pullets are about 6 weeks old.

Your post is alittle confusing. The newbee is getting a lesson on the "pecking order" of everyone else, but in her case TOO much. Can you keep her in a cage within the pen/run? This way everyone can see/touch but not peck. I am sure someone else will chirp in with more help...but this is a start..

If the younger pullet has any kind of bare spots you can put Vaseline on those spots and it will keep the others from pecking on those spots. Otherwise, I agree, it's just a pecking order issue that you can't interfere with. Good luck :)
