Pecking or mites?

Hi,

One of my year-old Australorps has very thin feathers on her head. I don't know if the others are pecking her or if there is
some kind of creepy-crawlie responsible. The rest of her body looks fine and there aren't any feathers missing anywhere else.

None of the others seem to have the same malady.

I haven't had this problem before, but it's been very hot here and I have two more hens than I did last summer.

Can anybody tell me what to do about this?

lift the lowest neck feathers and if mites were the case you would see little tiny bugs. it's harder to see mites in darker colored birds.

Do you own a rooster?

No I don't have a rooster and I didn't see any mites in her lower neck feathers, but I might look again in
The morning when I have more light.
